Named in honor of our selfless founder, Rita, and her late husband, a dedicated civil servant himself, this Legacy Community of steadfast supporters imagines a future that respects the dignity of all. Perhaps you have been a steady Volunteer Cook; continue giving long after your days in the kitchen. 

You may have made a monthly donation, an annual appeal, or a sponsorship contribution to your local Dismas house for as long as you can remember; extend your support long after your days of writing checks. 

Have you been touched by the challenges of addiction or involvement with the corrections system? Honor those who have lost or persisted.

Changes in culture, policy, beliefs, barriers, and biases – the systemic challenges that face those whom Dismas of Vermont serves – require long-term attention to address the stigmas impacting those affected by the criminal justice system.  There is no easy solution.  

As such, the Legacy Community symbolizes organizational security and permanence and, ultimately, betterment for the common good: a world where the people we serve can make amends, begin again, and contribute to and participate in our communities.
